Before the wet season
Clear gutters, drains, scuppers, valleys, and debris traps. Review flashings, sealants, penetrations, edge details, downspouts, and prior repairs. Use qualified help for unsafe access.
After major weather
Inspect from the ground for displaced materials, tree impact, clogged drainage, bent metal, and new interior staining. Photograph changes and arrange safe temporary protection when needed.
Plan, do not postpone
Small drainage or flashing defects can spread into insulation, decking, walls, finishes, and occupied spaces. Schedule dry-season corrective work before the next prolonged rain cycle.
