Put safety before the building
Stay away from fallen power lines, unstable ceilings, wet electrical areas, fire damage, and visibly compromised roof sections. Contact emergency services or utilities when life safety is involved.
Limit damage without unsafe roof access
Move people and valuables from affected areas when safe, contain water, photograph conditions, and call a qualified roofing contractor. Do not climb onto a wet, icy, steep, storm-damaged, or structurally uncertain roof.
Document temporary and permanent work
Request written temporary-protection scope, photographs, permanent repair options, and clear invoices. Notify the insurer promptly if coverage may apply, but verify your own policy obligations.
